Building a Seamless PERSIB App Experience: Strengthening Brand Consistency and Reviving Fan Engagement Beyond Matchdays

Introduction

Persib is a Premier League club based in the Indonesian Football League, headquartered at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium in Bandung, Indonesia. Founded in 1919, the club has won numerous Indonesian league titles, including historic back-to-back championships in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Its fan base is extensive throughout West Java, known called as Bobotoh.
Persib already has an app with over 1 million downloads on the App Store and Play Store, demonstrating the Persib app’s role in supporting Bobotoh’s club needs, including ticket purchases, merchandise, club news, and more.

Project Overview

Improve the user experience and interface design of the PERSIB App by incorporating new product enhancements, aiming to create a more immersive and emotionally engaging experience for users.

User Interface Design

Once the design foundation has been established through the token and component system, the next step is to implement it into the user interface. This revamp covers various key layers of the Persib application end-to-end, from onboarding to the profile page. However, several pages that were deemed unnecessary were retained, with only their colors and components adjusted.
Onboarding Screen
In the initial design, the onboarding page focused on player visuals but didn’t sufficiently explain the benefits or appeal of the Persib app’s features. In the latest version, we’ve redesigned it with a more informative and immersive approach to the app’s features.
Login Screen
The main focus is on making it easy for users to log in directly with a clear input form and prominent call to action buttons. The layout remains unchanged from the previous design to provide a sense of familiarity for long-time users who are already familiar with the Persib app.
Home screen
In the previous design, the primary focus was on match ticket sales, with other sales, surveys, if necessary, being pushed further down the homepage. The visual elements were dense and fragmented, creating a less focused user experience.
In the new version, a full-height content approach was adopted as a solution to address traffic when there were no matches or ticket sales. This new design provides dynamic content such as breaking news, videos, and other club updates to maintain user engagement throughout the season.
News Detail
The news detail page has undergone significant changes, providing a more immersive visual experience. One key aspect is the introduction of typing animation in the title section when users open a news item. Despite the visual and interaction changes, the content structure and layout remain intact, ensuring users feel familiar with the new design.
Membership & Passport Persib Selling Screen
Previously, MemberSIB and Passport were products on separate platforms. MemberSIB was sold on the Persib app, while the passport had its own website. However, due to various business decisions, both items were sold together in the Persib app.
My Persib
My Persib is a new page for categorizing everything so it doesn’t pile up on the homescreen like before. This page focuses on being able to enter anything related to the club, from purchased tickets, event or bundled ticket purchases, surveys, games, and more. Ad spots, which previously caused problems when there were more than two brands, are now presented in a carousel format to support this.
Persib Ticket Purchase Entry Point
In the previous design, ticket sales were placed at the very top of the homepage. In terms of flow, this made it very easy to buy tickets, but it would look empty if the competition season was on break. Other content was also not explored by users because of the habits that had been formed by sales.
Your Ticket
The ticket page that users have purchased in the new design still maintains the basic structure and hierarchy of information in it to maintain the consistency of the user experience from the previous design, adjustments are made in the visual section to be more in line with the direction of the new design.
As a complement, here are the design results on other pages in the revamped Persib application with fresher visuals but still maintaining the consistency of Persib’s identity.

Launch Day

On August 2, 2025, the Persib app was officially released to the public using a force update on the old app. Along with the jersey release, the new team was unveiled for the 2025/2026 season at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium at an event titled Pesta Biru.
If you’re in Indonesia, you should now be able to download the latest Persib app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
