Taking Care Of Me – Picture Book Illustration

Taking Care Of Me by Marla Clements is a cheerful book about healthy habits and self-care for young readers. The brief asked US Illustrations, a children's book illustration studio, to create the spreads, design a diverse cast and illustrate the cover.

We created bright, detailed spreads full of beach days, playgrounds, ballet and quiet starry moments. The diverse cast of children was designed so every young reader can see themselves in the story.

We started with character sketches and page layouts, then moved to color and detailed digital rendering. Scenes were balanced between lively and calm, and we refined details through revisions with the author.
