The Christmas Puppy Proposal – Picture Book Illustration

The Christmas Puppy Proposal by Tony Ardolino is a merry holiday tale starring a lovable reindeer-antlered pug who helps pull off a Christmas Eve proposal. The brief asked US Illustrations, a children's book illustration studio, to illustrate the full book and design the pug and the human cast.

We designed a charming pug with reindeer antlers and a warm, varied human cast. The settings range from a busy mall and toy-shop scenes to an ice rink and a festive party, all in cheerful holiday color so the pug stays the heart of every spread.

We started with character sketches and rough layouts for each scene, then moved to color and full digital rendering. Palettes were tuned for a cozy Christmas feel, and we refined the pages through revisions with the author.

The result is a festive, complete picture book with a lovable animal hero. See more of our children's book work at https://usillustrations.com
