Emergency Fund Guide — Educational Infographic Design
Making financial education more engaging through creative visual storytelling.
This self-initiated infographic project was created for Money Mirror, a personal finance brand focused on helping people understand and manage their money.
The objective was to transform a practical financial topic—building an emergency fund on a tight budget—into an engaging, accessible, and visually distinctive educational graphic.
The Creative Approach
Rather than using a conventional infographic template, I developed a colorful editorial illustration centered around a patchwork umbrella.
The umbrella visually represents financial protection, while its five illustrated sections organize the educational content into a clear, step-by-step learning experience.
The design combines expressive typography, watercolor-inspired textures, vibrant colors, and character illustration to make the information approachable and memorable.
Design Highlights
Visual storytelling: A distinctive umbrella illustration connects the educational steps through one cohesive concept.
Information hierarchy: Five numbered sections guide readers through the content in a logical sequence.
Typography and layout: Bold headlines, clear section headings, and supporting explanations establish a structured reading experience.
Creative art direction: Colorful illustrations and textured details create a recognizable editorial aesthetic.
Brand integration: Money Mirror branding and a promotional call to action connect the educational content with the broader brand identity.
Mobile-first composition: A vertical format designed for Pinterest and mobile viewing.
My Role
Creative concept development, AI-assisted illustration and visual creation, infographic art direction, typography direction, information organization, and visual composition.
Final Outcome
A distinctive educational infographic concept that demonstrates how financial information can be presented through compelling illustrations, clear visual hierarchy, and engaging design.
Project type: Self-initiated work for my own brand, Money Mirror.
Deliverable: One vertical educational infographic design.
