Scalable Backend Development for High Traffic Websites

● Brought down UI API response time from minutes to 1-2 secs by taking initiative to re-design a feature, refactor code and improve database queries. We migrated 100 million+ data-points from PostgreSQL to Cassandra in production live without impacting the services as per new design.

● Developed feature to backup and restore configurations for a group of devices. Feature is used to recover configurations in case of disaster.

● Improved product stability by convincing leadership team to have a dedicated Redis with persistence enabled for the given micro-service.

● Reduced production bugs by improving process and motivated team to write unit tests with vision to increase code coverage from 30% to 80%.

● Initiated efforts to improve system performance and scalability by various activities such as improving database performance by query optimization and indexing.
