Overview
I created a poster for the Twenty One Pilots Icy Tour using Adobe Photoshop. I focused heavily on color palette and the theme of the tour to create this.
Design Process
I started by browsing for photoshoots that band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun for the tour as well as photos of the shows that the professional photographer, Ashley Osborn took of the concert. I built the background with several elements and added different shades of blue over them to create separation before adding the photo of Tyler and Josh in the white suits. I then added blue tints to them to make it appear like the sun was setting. Vectors of snow falling were included on top of those to add more action. I imported the photo of Josh at the drums and set it to a blend mode so he didn't stick out and then added the text from a graphic of the text. I added some glow to the words to increase contrast between different elements.
Difficulties
A significant portion of the difficulty surrounding this project was just trial and error to figure out what fit best with the rest of the composition and figuring out how to balance the elements so not one specific part was busier than another. There was several different ideas I had that I ended up not liking as much as I originally thought, which I handled by continuing my search and trying a number of different things.
