CoinMart Referral Program Strategy

I designed and implemented a referral program for CoinMart to drive organic user acquisition and enhance customer retention through an incentivized growth loop.

Problem

CoinMart needed a scalable and cost-effective growth strategy to boost user acquisition while reducing reliance on paid marketing. The challenge was to create a referral system that would encourage existing users to bring in new traders, while ensuring fraud prevention and a strong ROI.

Contributions

I developed a multi-tier referral program, offering progressive rewards based on trading volume and user engagement. The system incentivized high-value traders while keeping acquisition costs low. I collaborated with the product, marketing, and development teams to integrate the program seamlessly into the platform. Additionally, I designed the messaging and marketing strategy, incorporating email automation, in-app prompts, and social media campaigns to maximize adoption.

Outcomes

The referral program resulted in a 27% increase in new user sign-ups and a 19% boost in trading volume within the first three months. Referral-driven acquisitions accounted for 35% of total new traders, significantly reducing customer acquisition costs. The program's fraud detection mechanisms ensured quality referrals, making it a sustainable, long-term growth lever for CoinMart.
