Ball Animation: Interactive Motion Design Study
Client: Personal Project
Role: Motion Designer
Tools: After Effects
Project Type: Motion Design / Animation Study
Project Overview:
This personal project explores motion, timing, and visual continuity through a simple but engaging ball animation. The concept focuses on keeping the viewer’s attention on a single element—the ball—while using seamless transitions to create a smooth, continuous visual experience.
Project Objective:
The objective was to create a fun, interactive-feeling motion design that demonstrates control of movement, pacing, and transitions. By limiting the composition to a single focal element, the project emphasizes clarity, rhythm, and motion flow.
Design Deliverables:
Motion design video
Seamless animated transitions
Consistent focal-point animation
Short-form visual experiment
Design Approach:
The animation relies on physics-inspired motion, smooth easing, and intentional transitions to guide the viewer’s eye. Each sequence flows naturally into the next, creating a sense of continuity and engagement while maintaining focus on the ball throughout the video.
Outcome:
The final animation serves as a playful yet technical motion study that highlights attention to detail, timing, and storytelling through movement. It demonstrates how simple elements, when animated thoughtfully, can create an engaging and immersive visual experience.
