Overview:
As a freelance digital marketing consultant with over 7.5 years of experience, I had the pleasure of working with The Wonderful Things Factory for 4.5 years. During this time, I worked on brand development and growth through various digital marketing channels, including social media marketing, email marketing, and affiliate marketing. My work involved leveraging 4 different brands, creating content, SEO copywriting, landing page creation, email campaigns with workflows, and reach-out campaigns. In addition, I also conducted interviews with target influencers for acquisition and retention.
Challenge:
When I started working with The Wonderful Things Factory, the company was facing a challenge of low brand awareness and a need to grow their sales with the use of organic social media. The client was primarily relying on influencer collaborations and organic social media, which was not yielding the desired results. The company wanted to still keep the focus on social media, but needed a comprehensive content growth strategy to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and boost sales.
Solution:
To address the client's challenges, I devised a growth strategy primarily using social media that focused on leveraging existing and new influencer collaborations to drive traffic and sales. The strategy involved developing and strengthening the existing content strategy and social media strategy by including an SEO-rich blogging strategy. This was built off existing influencer collaborations the brand already had, in addition to orchestrating reach-out programs to find new leads, with bigger audiences to help expand the brand’s reach. The blog content was in the form of interviews around the product’s niches: fitness and fashion. The interview posts gain so much traction we decided to create separate “magazine” accounts, showcasing the interviews. Within a few short months, these accounts were totaling over 3000 combined followers. I also optimized the client's social media accounts organically through hashtags, engagement, and stories. All stories had the same type of design and were native to the platform with the correct Instagram stickers, buttons, etc.
To increase brand awareness, I ran influencer campaigns and collaborations for influencers with up to 1 million followers. I created a network of influencers by searching on social media and running lead-generation campaigns to collaborate with them for the interviews. This involved the creation of PR packages, such as a media kit, and the creation and organization of reach-out campaigns to the influencers.
Results:
My efforts resulted in a significant increase in brand awareness, traffic, and sales for The Wonderful Things Factory. Within the first year of working with the client, 100% of traffic to the website and 100% of sales were from social media. I managed four social media accounts related to this, creating the growth strategy, social media strategy, and the actual content. This resulted in a significant increase in engagement, which helped to grow the client's brand and increase sales.
Conclusion:
Working with The Wonderful Things Factory was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate my experience in organic growth strategies relating on social media, content marketing and influencer collaborations. Through my time working with the client, I was able to help the client change their current processes and develop growth-focused processes that yielded results. By leveraging social media, email marketing, affiliate marketing, and other digital marketing techniques, I was able to help the client increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and boost sales. Overall, this project was a great success, and I look forward to taking on similar projects in the future.
