Maqtorah. Bid-based logistics for moving anything, anywhere in Saudi Arabia Overview Maqtorah is a Saudi-based mobile ecosystem for moving livestock, equipment, furniture, and other bulky goods. Traditional logistics services offer fixed pricing, no vehicle choice, and zero visibility once the cargo leaves the door. We partnered with Ali Aldughairi to design a two-sided platform where customers post a shipment, receive competing bids from verified transporters, and track the delivery in real time from pickup to drop-off.
Our challenge was to design two very different products — a consumer app built for trust and simplicity, and a driver app built for speed and one-handed use on the road — while making both work natively in Arabic and English.
What we did • A 3-step order wizard that captures cargo, route, receiver, and timing, with a live price estimate shown before the order is posted. • A bid comparison flow where offers are ranked by price and backed by transporter profiles, vehicle photos, and ETA to pickup. • Transparent checkout with a full cost breakdown (bid + VAT + platform fee), and chat and live tracking unlocked on payment. • A tiered transporter onboarding system (identity → license & vehicle → bank details) that lets drivers browse immediately and unlocks bidding as verification progresses. • Road Mode — a stripped-back driving interface where geofencing automates ~90% of status updates, leaving the driver just two taps: Loaded and Delivered.
How we did it Arabic is the primary language of this market, so RTL couldn’t be an afterthought. We rebuilt navigation, delivery timelines, progress indicators, route directions, badge placement, and chat alignment for right-to-left reading, then solved the harder problem: mixed-direction content. Order IDs, phone numbers, IBANs, and SAR amounts are Latin strings living inside Arabic sentences, and each needed a rule that held up across every screen. The second constraint was information density. A freight request carries dozens of parameters, all of which had to fit a 375px screen in a hierarchy that lets a transporter decide whether to bid in a matter of seconds — and lets a customer compare five offers without second-guessing.
Results
A production-ready Figma ecosystem covering both apps end to end, from onboarding to withdrawal.
Automated trip statuses that reduce support load and eliminate “where is my cargo” calls.
Trust built into the interface itself — verified profiles, vehicle photos, and upfront pricing address the core barrier in peer-to-peer logistics.
A scalable framework ready for new cargo categories, vehicle types, and regions.
