This app redesign project was undertaken as part of a rigorous and immersive bootcamp experience. It allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge in user-centered design principles, research methodologies, and prototyping techniques to solve a real-world problem. Through this project, I demonstrated my ability to work collaboratively in a team, analyze user needs, and deliver effective design solutions within a limited timeframe.

💡 Problem & Opportunities

🔬 Research & Discovery

Audrey and I chose to conduct evaluative research on the DoorDash app to learn user pain points and to find ways to improve the user experience. We found that more than 1 in 3 Americans have dietary restrictions based on food practices or allergies.
Through our journey mapping, this was how we decided that this was an important pain point for users that we would like to focus on finding a solution for. We chose to redesign the DoorDash app to include features for users to easily navigate and search for food options based on their needs.

💭 Reflections

We had a lot of fun with this project. We collaborated closely with our educational team who offered us insightful feedback through several design iterations.
Although we did not have the time or capacity to continue to the validation stage, we would have been very interested in conducting usability tests and A/B testing with working prototypes to further validate these features.
We learned that we barely scratched the surface with this project, and there are many more opportunities to build up the foodie community within the app to gain more feedback and insights from users.
