Redesigning Surfaces'N More

Peter Umeh

Problem with the Old Design

The original website suffered from:
Cluttered Layout: Overwhelming navigation and dense text made key value propositions hard to find.
Weak Visual Hierarchy: Critical differentiators (e.g., "mobile showroom service") were buried.
Low Engagement: No clear CTAs or structured pathways for homeowners or contractors to take action.
Brand Inconsistency: Mixed typography and poor imagery failed to reflect the premium quality of the service.

Redesigning Surfaces'N More for a Modern, Client-Centric Experience
Transform an outdated, text-heavy website into a sleek, conversion-driven platform that highlights the brand’s mobile showroom advantage and simplifies the customer journey.

Redesign Strategy

As a designer with deep expertise in lead-generation sites, I focused on:
1. Streamlined User Flow
Prioritized Scannability: Broke down walls of text into digestible sections (e.g., "Why Choose Us" bullet points).
Stronger CTAs: Added "Learn More" buttons and anchored the FAQ section to address objections early.
2. Visual Storytelling
Hero Section: Replaced generic text with a bold headline ("Experience hassle-free countertop selection…") that directly addresses pain points (no showroom visits).
Client Trust: Added partner logos (Caesarstone, Silestone) to reinforce credibility.
3. Mobile-First Service Emphasis
Highlighted the unique selling proposition (USP)—"We come to you"—through a dedicated "About Us" section and benefit-driven copy.
Used icons and short paragraphs to emphasize convenience (e.g., "In-home consultation").
4. Conversion Optimization
FAQ as a Lead Gen Tool: Anticipated common questions (pricing, areas served) to reduce bounce rates.
Service Highlights: Added kitchen cabinet upsells as a secondary revenue stream.

Business Impact

The redesign: ✅ Reduces Decision Fatigue: Clear sections guide users from awareness (services) to consideration (FAQ) to action (contact). ✅ Aligns with Brand Values: Modern aesthetics reflect the company’s "high-touch, premium service" ethos. ✅ Scalable Structure: Modular design allows easy updates for new services or promotions.
Final Note: For service-based businesses like Surfaces'N More, the website isn’t just a brochure—it’s the first touchpoint in a high-consideration purchase. This redesign strategically bridges the gap between the brand’s hands-on approach and the digital experience, turning visitors into booked consultations.
