Overview

In 2023, I worked on the redesign of NASDAQ’s bilingual newsletter for the Brazilian market.
The project was not only about translating content. We needed to understand how Brazilian investors consumed financial information, what made them subscribe, and why many newsletters were ignored after a few editions.
I led the work from market research and product analysis to the final layouts, design system and developer handoff.

The challenge

The Brazilian financial content market was already crowded, and many beginner investors saw this type of content as complex, long or difficult to follow.
NASDAQ needed to keep its credibility while making the newsletter feel more accessible to people who were still learning about investing.

Research and direction

Before designing, I analyzed financial newsletters and investment platforms already operating in Brazil.
I looked at their content structure, subscription experience, visual language and how they connected free content to paid products. I also mapped common audience objections, such as lack of time, complex language, repetitive formats and information overload.
These findings helped define a clear direction: the newsletter needed to be mobile-first, easy to scan and flexible enough to support different types of content.

The solution

I designed the Portuguese and English layouts using clear hierarchy, summaries and reusable content blocks.
I also created the complete newsletter design system, including components, templates, spacing rules and visual guidelines. This allowed the team to create new editions without redesigning everything from zero.
The final structure supported content about economics, financial markets and events in both Brazil and the United States.

Outcome

The result was a bilingual newsletter built specifically for the Brazilian market, with a clearer reading experience and a scalable system for future editions.
The product was launched and became part of NASDAQ’s content strategy in Brazil.

Reflection

This project showed me how much good research can simplify design decisions.
By understanding the market and the audience before opening Figma, it became easier to create a product that felt credible, but not intimidating.
