As the designer for a fintech startup aimed at helping individuals and families with low socioeconomic status understand money better, I proposed and implemented a solution that was focused around making and achieving financial wellness easy and accessible. The user-centric approach, from onboarding to gamified goal-setting adventures, resulted in a remarkable 3% increase in user adoption rates. This collaborative effort earned our app 5-star ratings on both Apple Store and Google Play. Outside the app, developing a design system not only improved team communication but also increased design efficiency by 10%. The product is based on the reality that millions of Americans, particularly women and individuals from underserved communities, are not taught financial literacy. The goal is to create an all-in-one product that helps people not only create budgets, manage their money, and create savings goals, but also educate users on financial literacy in a fun and interactive way.
