In the realm of product assembly and user experience, I had the privilege of serving as a Senior Instructional Designer at BILT, where I played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the way people interact with assembly instructions. This position allowed me to bridge the gap between complex technical information and user-friendly, interactive 3D manuals.

Working with a diverse range of products, from patio furniture to smart home devices, I transformed traditional 2D PDF manuals into engaging, interactive 3D experiences. This innovative approach empowered users to zoom, rotate, and explore individual parts, significantly enhancing comprehension and reducing assembly frustration.

The process, while meticulous, was deeply rewarding. It involved decoding 2D instructions and reimagining them in a three-dimensional space, complete with animated assembly sequences, detailed part lists, and enhanced diagrams. This transformation not only improved the user experience but also yielded tangible benefits for our clients, including a reduction in support costs by up to 35% and a sixfold increase in product review volume.

Collaborating with CAD specialists and Quality Assurance teams, I utilized 3D software to bring these instructions to life. My work impacted major retailers and manufacturers, including Home Depot, Walmart, Weber Grill, and even extended to projects for the Department of Defense, showcasing the wide-reaching implications of this technology in both consumer and specialized sectors.
