About the Project
Raftaar is a quick-commerce grocery and essentials delivery service operating in Assam, India. Their primary proposition is to deliver groceries and everyday household items to users’ doorsteps in minutes, emphasising speed and convenience.

The Challenge
Raftaar set out to revolutionize grocery delivery in Assam, aiming to make essentials accessible within minutes while building a strong local brand presence. The goal wasn’t just speed — it was to create trust, convenience, and a seamless user experience from cart to doorstep. To achieve this, the brand needed:
A distinct identity that embodies speed, reliability, and local connection
A mobile-first user experience optimized for quick browsing, instant checkout, and real-time delivery tracking
A scalable tech architecture capable of supporting live delivery operations, geo-targeting, and future city expansions
A consistent design system that unites branding, UI, and functionality across both app and web touchpoints

Branding, App Design, and Development using React Native (for the mobile app) and Laravel APIs (for backend architecture and delivery logic).

My Approach
As the lead designer and developer, I managed the complete end-to-end process — from brand identity to high-fidelity app design and full-stack development:
Defined the brand identity — built around the idea of speed with trust, using bold reds and deep yellows to symbolize energy, freshness, and reliability.
Mapped user journeys for rapid grocery discovery, one-tap checkout, and real-time order tracking to ensure a seamless flow from browse to doorstep.
Designed a mobile-first interface that feels fast and intuitive — focusing on minimal taps, clear CTAs, and smooth transitions even on low-bandwidth networks.
Developed the app using React Native for cross-platform efficiency and Laravel APIs for secure, high-performance backend logic and delivery operations.
Integrated essential tech layers — including location-based delivery zones, live order updates, and secure payment gateways.
Built a scalable design system adaptable for future expansions like multi-city rollout, category additions, and loyalty/reward modules.
Created a cohesive brand experience — balancing modern quick-commerce energy with local Assamese warmth through colors, typography, and iconography.

Results

The launch established Raftaar as Assam’s go-to quick-commerce platform, setting the foundation for future expansion into new cities, product categories, and loyalty features powered by real-time data and automation.
