Taxes & Invoices Automation Web App

The Challenge

The executive from Texas insurance company applied to us with a request to develop a tool that automatically creates invoices and calculates of all involved fees basing on user input. Without it, account managers spent too many time by calculating fees in the Excel, and then manually input them into a template to make an invoice.

To calculate the total to be paid in the invoice, the following data should be taken into account: state taxes and fees, commission, and other related additional fees. The company operates in many states across the US, and taxes vary from state to state.





The Solution

We have developed a web application that connects different data sources: user input and custom built database of taxes and their values across the US. The database can be updated by uploading a spreadsheet by the responsible staff.

Once the data is entered into the web interface, premium and fees are being calculated and displayed on the fly. If the entered data requires any changes, a user may fix or add the important info and resulting values will update on the fly as well.

Making a PDF invoice is just a click away. Upon request, we developed a template for PDF export that contains all the required info with a look of a standard company invoice. The app generates a company-branded PDF invoice ready to be sent.





The Result

The application allows calculating total amount to be paid depending on user input, and creating a PDF invoice in almost no time. Since the initial release, the company has saved hundreds of work hours on creating invoices.
