Soothing Soundwave: a label site fed by YouTube

The client

Soothing Soundwave releases lo-fi, chillhop and ambient music, the kind people put on to study, work or fall asleep to. The label publishes on YouTube all the time, and the owner did not want a website that has to be updated by hand after every upload.

The idea: the site follows YouTube

The site reads the label's channel through the YouTube API. Every new release appears on the site automatically once it is uploaded to YouTube: cover, title and player, with no manual work. Playlists and the 24/7 radio stream stay in sync the same way. After an upload, nobody has to touch the site.

The rest of the label's home base

Releases, playlists and videos pulled from the channel
24/7 lo-fi radio, live on the home page
A demo submission path for artists who want to release on the label
A merch store embedded from their Creator Spring shop
A custom vinyl ordering flow
An admin area where the team sees orders, contact messages and newsletter signups in one place

What I did

Design, development, YouTube integration, demo submissions, merch and vinyl orders, admin panel, deployment.

A site for a lo-fi label where every new release comes straight from YouTube, so the owner never updates it by hand.
