The KAIJURIUM project involved designing the brand identity for a budding Brazilian gaming studio, aiming to create a visually striking and memorable presence in the gaming industry. My role as a lead graphic designer / visual identity designer was to guide the process, to help the client discover the exact visual branding that was needed, and to walk the client through the steps of discovering "the inner beast".
Diego (the client) said: "Bogdan did an outstanding job creating the logo for my game studio. He captured our brand’s essence with a design that truly reflects our vision. His process was smooth, thoughtful, and highly professional. The final result was exactly what I was looking for—our new identity feels spot on!"
As the lead graphic designer, I was responsible for developing the logo, color palette, and overall visual style. I absolutely adored working on such a bold project. I start all of my projects with sketches drawn on my graphic tablet, which I then build into the logos you see on my page.
Diego expressed enthusiasm about the new branding, noting that it captures the essence of the studio's mission and vision."
The main challenge of the project: creating a visual style that complemented the logo; but this issue was resolved by thinking more carefully about what makes a design bold: use of strong shapes, contrasts, and an unapologetic desire to "break the wall".
As you can see, the initial design was just the head, with just enough of the clavicle area to sell the idea of a massive beast, but clearly not enough for the logo to be considered "imposing". As such, it was decided upon that more of the beast should be shown.
Personally, this was my favourite animation out of all of them; the interplay between quick action and smooth slow-motion really adds some visual interest.
The rework emphasizes the beast's muscular build, and giving it more of a "savagery" note to it.
As you can see, the logo plays a major part in the design system for the brand. It is to be presented BIG, IMPOSING, and in CENTER STAGE, whenever possible.
