The problem

A football Shorts channel with 240,000 subscribers needs a new video every day that is on trend, accurate, legally safe and cut to retain. Done by hand that is a full-time editing job plus a research job. The brief was to run the channel with an agent system and keep a human only where judgment matters.

What I built

An agent system around the channel, exposed through a custom MCP server with more than 60 tools, so every step of the operation is a typed, logged action.
Trend radar that watches football news and competitor channels, scores topics by velocity and audience fit, and proposes the day's briefs
Script engine with hook rules and a scoring gate: no script is produced until it passes the retention rubric
Real-footage edits rendered with code (Remotion): kinetic typography, telestration, glass panels, captions, sound design only in the hook, 29-second loop format
Official-source finder and a copyright gate before anything is published, plus daily claims monitoring, after learning the hard way which rights-holders block globally
Scheduled uploads through the YouTube Data API at the audience's peak hour, titles and descriptions generated and A/B'd, comment operations with a no-double-reply ledger
Analytics loop: retention and feed metrics per Short feed the next brief, and a weekly digest of what worked
A human gate before publish, and a dashboard where the operator sees pipeline, predictions and channel health

Stack

Python and TypeScript, custom MCP server, Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, YouTube Data and Analytics APIs, Remotion and ffmpeg, whisper for transcripts, Postgres, scheduled jobs.

Outcome

The channel publishes on schedule with no manual editing, every Short passes a rights check before it goes out, and the operator's time dropped to reviewing briefs and approving. Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@Vee6.

What this looks like for your project

A scope doc mapping your workflow step by step, a working agent on your real data within days with a review queue, then guardrails, scheduling and a handover your team can run.
