✏ Project overview

The primary objective for this project was to build a hassle free and intuitive purchase experience through an online store for YAA, who are a merchandise brand that makes pop culture accessories and swag that youngsters love. Streamlining the process of a new or existing customer finding their desired product and placing the order seamlessly was of the highest priority.

🎯 Key problems

Discovery is growing, however, new customers must either describe the desired product or return the post in direct messaging to complete the order.
Returning customers risk dropping off due to the hassle of searching for their chat history or the brand’s page to initiate another purchase, even if they already follow the page.
As all products are displayed on social media, users are unable to perform searches to easily locate the product they intended to order.

✔ Goals achieved

Made an immersive searching experience that is coherent to their perceived brand image. People felt like the platform is specialized for merch and accessories they wanted to buy.
Search customization and the ability to filter search results were implemented for repeat buyers to narrow down on their desired item from an expansive catalogue.
Implemented placement of orders on messaging platforms like instagram of whatsapp to send the final order details, since the business wanted to keep relying on DMs for order placements.

The intuitive experience resonated with the users and there was an increase in conversion rates indicating users were able to find the product they needed with ease. better visual hierarchy lead to the users discovering the appropriate information at the right time during purchase.
