Role and Responsibilities: As the lead Product designer for the FamHub Network dashboard project, I was responsible for understanding the needs of administrators managing family resources. My role included conducting user research, defining intuitive user flows for managing data and notifications, and designing wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to ensure an efficient, user-friendly experience for platform admins.

In collaboration with the FamHub development team, I took on the role of Product Designer to create an intuitive admin dashboard for managing family resources and connections. The goal was to streamline admin tasks by providing easy access to key data, user activity, and system notifications.

Using Figma, I focused on delivering a seamless user experience by designing a clear and organized interface. The FamHub Admin Dashboard empowers administrators to efficiently monitor and manage family-related tasks, enhancing the overall platform's functionality and usability.

The FamHub development team approached me with a clear vision to improve the admin experience for managing family resources and connections. The goal was to create a centralized dashboard that would streamline administrative tasks, enhance user data management, and provide easy access to important notifications. By addressing these needs, the project aimed to offer a more efficient tool for platform administrators.

Unclear Data Structure: As a product built from scratch, there was a need to establish a clear and intuitive way to organize family resources and key metrics, which was initially absent.

Lack of Efficient Notification System: A reliable system for timely alerts and updates was missing, making it difficult for admins to stay informed about important activities within the platform.

Non-Intuitive User Interface: The lack of a streamlined design and clear navigation paths made it challenging for administrators to efficiently manage and monitor family connections and resources.

Design a comprehensive dashboard that consolidates family resources and connections in an easy-to-navigate interface.

Use modular components to allow admins to quickly view key data (e.g., member status, resource allocation, and activity logs).

Enable users to personalize the dashboard layout, allowing them to prioritize important metrics and resources.

Create dynamic sections for managing family member information, resource tracking, and notifications.

Display real-time updates for any changes in family data, ensuring admins can act immediately.

Design intuitive forms for adding and editing family members, managing permissions, and allocating resources.

Use clear labels, tooltips, and progress indicators to guide users through data entry and management tasks.

Maintain a consistent and usable interface across all device types.

Create a visually appealing interface with a clean, modern design that minimizes clutter and focuses on key tasks.

Use a consistent color scheme and typography to guide the user's attention to important elements.

Design features that allow admins to collaborate on resource management, such as shared calendars, comment sections, and activity logs.

Allow admins to leave feedback on family resources or tasks to improve communication.

Include an easy-to-access feedback system for users to report issues, suggest improvements, or ask for help directly from the dashboard.

In the Discovery phase, I focused on understanding the challenges and opportunities in improving the admin experience for managing family resources and connections. I identified key stakeholders, including platform administrators, family managers, and system users, to gain a thorough understanding of their needs and expectations.

This process involved uncovering pain points such as difficulties in data organization, resource tracking, and notification management to ensure the design addressed these issues and enhanced the administrative workflow.

I used a comprehensive research approach to gather insights for the FamHub admin dashboard project:

User Interviews and Surveys: I engaged with platform administrators to understand their frustrations, needs, and expectations related to managing family data and resources.

Competitive Analysis: I analyzed similar platforms and tools to identify features that could be improved or adapted for FamHub, ensuring the design was competitive and met industry standards.

Stakeholder Consultations: I collaborated with key stakeholders to align the project’s goals with business needs and ensure the design would meet both user and organizational objectives.

Task Analysis: I examined the common tasks and workflows of administrators to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

During the Ideation phase, I brainstormed and developed concepts to address the challenges identified in the research. I focused on creating innovative solutions for:

In the Wireframing stage, I created low-fidelity wireframes to outline the structure and layout of the FamHub admin dashboard. The wireframes focused on organizing key elements like family resource management, user data displays, and notification settings to ensure a clear and intuitive interface.

This phase allowed me to visualize the core functionality of the dashboard, prioritize essential features, and refine the layout to improve user flow and ease of access to critical information before moving into high-fidelity prototyping.

The final solution was a streamlined admin dashboard designed to enhance usability, data management, and real-time notifications for FamHub administrators. The design focused on simplifying workflows, ensuring easy access to family resources and data while maintaining a user-friendly interface. Key UX/UI features included:
