Objectives & Challenges

The primary business objective was to craft a website that not only attracted the right audience but also converted them into loyal customers. On the technical front, the goal was to empower the marketing team to manage the website without relying on engineers. This involved enhancing website performance and seamlessly integrating various marketing tools. One of the significant challenges was the need for custom code to integrate Salesforce and migrate content from a previous Jamstack configuration.

Webflow-Specific Approach

Webflow was the platform of choice for several reasons. Its user-friendly CMS allowed the marketing team to manage the website without the fear of breaking anything. Additionally, Webflow's extensibility meant that the site could be easily scaled in the future without requiring extensive coding skills. Features like reusable components and interactions were used to enhance efficiency and user engagement. Custom code was also implemented to facilitate cookie consent, Salesforce integration, and the inclusion of marketing tools like Facebook Pixel and Marketo.

Execution

The development process was initiated with a temporary site setup based on the provided Figma designs. This was crucial as FalconX had immediate marketing initiatives to execute. Once the temporary site was up, a new site was developed in a staging environment to gather investor feedback. Optimized resources like compressed images, SVGs, and Lotties were used to ensure a stellar user experience. After incorporating the feedback, the final version of the website was built.

Results

The new website was a resounding success. FalconX experienced a consistent visitor count of over 10,000 and saw a significant increase in lead capture. The project even played a role in securing their next round of funding. A few weeks post-launch, a heartfelt note from FalconX arrived, expressing their gratitude and satisfaction with the new website.

Lessons Learned

The project underscored the importance of starting with a strong style guide and class system in Webflow. This made the build process much smoother. It also revealed that pre-building elements that were still under discussion were not an efficient use of time, even if the client was eager to see a preview.
