Paul Kalkbrenner — Artist Website Recreation Study

Independent frontend recreation and restoration study. This is an implementation exercise, not a commissioned brand project. Original design and brand assets belong to the credited reference.
My focus on Paul Kalkbrenner's website was creating a connected browsing experience for music, live shows, photography and the artist's story.
I worked with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including GSAP motion and Barba page transitions. I brought together 17 public pages covering music, tour, biography, journey, galleries, news and contact, then organised the images, fonts and background audio for consistent loading across nested routes.
The detailed work was making the interactions useful. I repaired album buttons and streaming links, connected album anchors to their accordions, and refined gallery filters and year navigation. I added keyboard controls, menu focus handling, Escape dismissal and video-dialog focus restoration.
I also added reduced-motion and JavaScript-disabled reading alternatives, and improved audio delivery with byte-range support. Newsletter fields validate and guide visitors to the official signup page.
I checked every page at desktop and mobile sizes, then tested narrow layouts, galleries, album controls, menu behaviour and reading fallbacks. The result is an expressive artist showcase with a clear route through music and editorial content.
