NSJ 2020 | Festival Poster + Merchandise Design

North Sea Jazz Festival is the largest indoor music festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The project aimed to let people imagine the sound of jazz using graphic motion. The idea originated from visualising the sounds produced by playing musical instruments and pondering the nature of the instruments and the way they are played to create jazz sounds.

I started visualising moments of playing instruments by using crushing effects with 3D-modeled instruments and a huge ball that covered the water image. The 3D models were created using Cinema4D and Octane Renderer.
