The project was focused on building an app that helps women manage period discomfort through cycle-aware nutrition. The product vision was to let users scan meals, get tailored advice, and track how food impacts their symptoms.
My role was to translate this vision into a clear, approachable, and visually calming UI that users would enjoy opening daily.
The Solution
FloDiet is a cycle-aware nutrition companion. Instead of overwhelming users with endless logs, it focuses on simple, high-impact actions:
Splash screens
Personalized Quiz
A lightweight onboarding quiz builds a profile based on symptoms, cravings, sensitivities, and diet type. (“Do you get cramps?” “What foods do you usually crave?” “Any intolerances we should know?”)
Onboarding Quizzes
...and a paywall you wouldn't want to skip.
Paywall screen
Food Scanner
The star feature: take a photo of a meal, and FloDiet tells you if it’s cycle-friendly. Users see a compatibility score (out of 100) plus a one-sentence “why” explanation.
Example: “Chocolate cake — 60/100. Sugar may worsen cramps for some people. Pair with nuts or dark chocolate for balance.”

Insights That Matter
Over time, FloDiet surfaces patterns like:
“You feel less bloated when avoiding dairy on Day 1.”
“Spicy food tends to trigger headaches in your luteal phase.”
Insights
Logs
Logs let users quickly record moods, symptoms, or cravings, and later view them in a clear history to spot patterns over time.
Reflection & Impact
The final design creates a calm, supportive experience while keeping food scanning front and center. My focus was on user clarity (simple scoring, short explanations) and emotional comfort (warm gradients, relatable illustrations).
The design gives FloDiet a strong foundation to stand out from generic period trackers — positioning it as a nutrition-first wellness companion.
