The Oath of Unity: A Nation’s Rise

Fikram Khaykal Lazuardi

When twilight's mist adorns the sky, A legacy of history whispers in the night, Through fog and shadows, old wounds lie, Unspoken on parchment, forgotten in flight.
Like a blade, honed sharp yet silent, Engraved with tragedies etched in stillness, Accompanied by gamelan, soft andpliant, Summoning ancestors in quiet stillness.
In KJB's hall, a voice echoes clear, Mohammad Yamin speaks of unity's might, Touching souls, making words sincere, One land, one dream, in the embrace of light.
Yet shadows of doubt creep near, The First Congress falters, divisions grow, Melayu or Indonesian, the question clear, Unity tested, but we still hold the glow.
On the 28th, the heavens converge, Under the moon's glow and winds that breathe, Three vows inscribed, one land emerges, A thousand voices, one hope beneath.
In the final meeting, footsteps faint, Tracing ancient ground in silent grace, As Wage Supratman’s notes bear restraint, "Indonesia Raya" rings through time and space.
A violin's hum in the whispering night, Births hope from ancient silence deep, A vow of love for the motherland's light, A nation's courage, in its heart we keep.
The night sky stands, though darkness falls, But spirits rise, undaunted by time, On the 28th, a brave pledge calls, A nation stitched together, in rhythm, we climb.
Thus lives the oath, in hearts that never sever, In blood and breath, forever united, Indonesia Raya sounds, as we strive forever, In this vow, eternally ignited.
