SceneApps is a social video platform designed to help users express themselves authentically through short videos, meaningful reactions, and real-time conversations. The app focuses on genuine engagement by allowing people to upload videos, tag or mention friends, and connect through video calls. A unique rewards system encourages honest interaction by giving both creators and reactors points based on the quality and authenticity of engagement.

As a Product Designer, the goal was to improve user experience, clarity, and transparency across key features such as video posting, reactions, insights, and rewards. The platform now includes structured insights for creators, showing how their audience interacts with their content through authenticity scoring, emotion diversity, and reaction influence. Users can also earn points for meaningful engagement, which can be redeemed for cash.

The project involved refining the core user flows, clarifying reaction insights, improving content identity systems, designing a clean reward experience, enhancing notification logic, and ensuring users understand how their data and reaction scoring works. SceneApps aims to combine creativity, meaningful reactions, and reliable rewards to create a safer, more trustworthy social space for both creators and reactors.

Most social video platforms focus heavily on likes, views, and surface-level engagement, making it difficult to understand how people truly feel about a creator’s content. Users often receive reactions that lack depth, creators can’t measure real audience sentiment, and reactors have no meaningful way to participate beyond leaving basic emojis or comments. Additionally, there is no transparent system that rewards genuine engagement, leaving both creators and reactors without incentives to interact honestly. This leads to shallow interactions, low creator insight, and limited community trust.

SceneApps introduces an engagement model built on authenticity and meaningful reactions. Users can upload videos, tag friends, and connect via video calls, but more importantly, they can leave rich emotional reactions that the platform evaluates for authenticity, depth, and diversity. These reactions generate points for both creators and reactors, which users can redeem for cash. SceneApps provides creators with clear insights on how people respond to their posts, offering breakdowns on emotional patterns, influence, and overall audience sentiment.
