This was a big app requiring multiple screens compatibility so while looking for starting inspiration, I considered a variety of app templates and layouts. The app has a similar color palette to this portfolio website but with an even more stark black & white, being a mistake that I learnt from; never to use a pure black and white contrast. Well, starting with the color palette, I decided to have a rounded edges look for the app with the buttons and the even the icons being used having a rounded edge. I created multiple wireframes for 3 screen sizes for each page required in the app.
Design
Along with working on the light mode of the app, it also required a dark theme which, obviously weren’t equally time taking but still took sometime to complete. This leads us to another mistake that this project taught me; not having images for the project before starting the design process. It lead to a mismatch of the contrast between the images and the apps UI which almost made the whole design useless. Fortunately, I figured it out with the help of my roommate.
Flutter Frontend
And for the development part of the project, it was a completely different challenge. The multiple screens meant multiple app layouts, and each page having at least 2 variants, having to be done by me, along with setting up the backend in Firebase. I have made out the front-end in smartphone frames and can further complete the app in a maximum of 2 months with a working back-end, which seemed unnecessary to have hosted without a userbase to use it.
