The 25th of April is one of the most important days in Portuguese History. For those who do not know the importance of this day, to sum it up: it was the end of almost 50 years of fascism, persecution, colonialism, war and the beginning of freedom. The Revolution was called the “Carnation Revolution” since thousands of people went to the street and joined the armed forces ( MFA) putting red carnations on their guns showing how you can fight violence with peace. Living outside of Portugal for already 10 years, I like to still celebrate this day, on my own way, to keep this memory alive!
