Nonprofit Website Overhaul — Global OffSite Care

Global OffSite Care is a nonprofit healthcare organization providing medical care to underserved communities worldwide. Their WordPress website had accumulated critical usability issues that undermined credibility and blocked donations and volunteer sign-ups.

I conducted a full site audit, prioritized fixes by user impact, and delivered improvements over a 9-month volunteer engagement.

Performance: Replaced auto-loading video embeds with a click-to-play thumbnail system using custom JavaScript. Created a responsive grid layout with aligned cards.

Information Architecture: Restructured the entire navigation — reorganized About Us and Our Initiatives menus, removed duplicate/broken items, and fixed URL inconsistencies.

Page Redesigns (14+ pages): Built an interactive modal biography system for the Leadership page (click-to-read, hover effects, keyboard navigation). Redesigned the Donate Now, Mini Grant Program, Our Initiatives, Contact Us, Get Involved, and Regional Seminars pages with consistent professional styling.

Bug Fixes: Fixed non-clickable buttons, resolved all broken links, converted broken embeds to direct PDF downloads, and implemented 301 redirects via WordPress Redirection plugin.

Documentation: Created 5 maintenance guides and a full transition document with SOPs, QA checklists, and access information so the next volunteer could continue without starting from scratch.

The redesigned donation page supports donor confidence. Working volunteer buttons and clear Get Involved pages reduce recruitment friction. Consistent, modern styling matches the quality of GOSC's medical mission. Documentation ensures long-term sustainability.
