Event Horizon

Exploring depth, light, and motion through a cosmic wormhole concept.

Overview

Event Horizon is an abstract motion exploration centered around the idea of a wormhole as a visual gateway. The project focuses on depth, lighting, and atmospheric motion to create a cinematic space inspired experience. The animation was later extended into a conceptual landing page layout to explore how interactive motion can support digital storytelling.

Concept & Inspiration

The concept was inspired by the scientific idea of the event horizon, the boundary around a black hole where light bends and perception changes. The goal was to transform this idea into a visual motion study that feels immersive and minimal at the same time.
The color palette uses deep cosmic blacks combined with vibrant violet and purple glow tones to create a strong focal point at the center of the wormhole. This contrast enhances depth and gives the animation an energetic yet atmospheric mood.

Process & Tools

The process began with experimenting with circular forms and depth layering to simulate a wormhole structure. Motion was refined through rotation, glow intensity, and positioning to create a smooth cinematic flow.
The project was built using Spline, allowing real time lighting and material adjustments to shape the final look. Subtle motion tuning helped achieve a continuous loop effect for a seamless visual experience.

Outcome

The final result is a cinematic wormhole animation combined with a conceptual web layout that highlights the role of motion in creating immersive digital experiences. This project also served as an exploration of combining environments with interface design.
