Hykr – Passenger Mobile App for Long-Distance Ride-Hailing in Turkey
Overview
Hykr is a long-distance ride-hailing platform built for Turkey, starting with Istanbul. The goal was to design a passenger app that blends the convenience of Uber with the local relevance and flexibility that Turkish riders expect.
This wasn’t just about rides — the experience needed to cover multiple transport use cases:
→ Book a Ride (short and long distance)
→ Plan a Trip (future scheduling)
→ Book a Tour (local tourism)
→ Private Chauffeur (premium service)
The challenge was designing a mobile experience that could house these varied offerings without confusing the user.
My Role
Product Designer (UI/UX) — Led end-to-end design for the passenger app, from wireframes to developer-ready handoff.
Design Approach
User & Market Research – Studied ride-hailing patterns in Turkey, identifying cultural nuances in booking habits, payment preferences, and trust expectations.
UX Strategy – Structured the flow to minimize steps while still communicating critical trip details and safety measures.
UI Design – Used a clean, modern visual style inspired by Uber and Bolt, adapted for Hykr’s brand identity.
Consistency & Scalability – Created a component-based Figma file for rapid iteration and future feature expansion.
Prototype Testing – Built interactive prototypes to validate booking flows, map interactions, and payment sequences before development.
