Embracing Antisocial Tendencies

“Why don’t you go play outside?!?”
This was something I heard a lot as a kid.
While the other kids were outside, getting into trouble,
I was the one sitting inside, away from the chaos.
I got weird looks.
People just couldn’t understand why I would not play with the others.
They started to think something was off with me.
I was an Antisocial loner. I still am, actually.
And despite what people say about us…
It’s the best thing to be on the planet.
You see, being away from the chaos and energy, keeps you out of trouble, and away from bad influences.
You get to observe people’s flakiness, and two-faced personalities.
Most importantly, you learn to love yourself, your own company, and the space between your ears.
You don’t need anyone’s company…
Or validation to live your life.
So when someone comes along, who mirrors you…
The appreciation yall share is genuine.
Till then, ignore the weird looks, and the snide comments.
Just continue to walk to the beat of your own drum.
Until you find yourself a marching partner.
All the best,
KH
