Internet access has become a necessity in many people's daily lives, allowing them to connect with family and friends, do business, and learn about current events around the world. The COVID-19 epidemic has furthered the trend toward digital platforms and highlighted the crucial importance of having access to the internet. Several surveys and studies in the UK have tracked internet accessibility and use. This business research determines to observe internet use patterns from 2011 to 2020, breaking down users and non-users by economic sector, region, age bracket, and gender.
The study will look at the statistics the ONS has collected on internet use in the UK. Since 2011, the ONS in the UK has checkered internet usage amongst residents aged 16 and up in the country. All aspects of Internet life, from time spent online to methods of connecting, are explored in depth throughout the poll. In-person interviews and web-based questionnaires both contribute to the data set (Office for National Statistics, 2023).
The paper will examine the intersection of these three factors: economic activity; low-level geographic regions; and age and sex. As part of the economic activity component, we will examine current, former, and never-ever internet users concerning certain industries and job settings. Wales and the East of England internet use will be analyzed as part of the low-level geographical locations dimension. Finally, the age and gender component will look at how people of various ages and sexes use the Internet.
The report's purpose is to deliver light on the past and current state of internet usage and acceptance in the UK by highlighting trends, patterns, and shifts. The findings will inform businesses and governments about the wants and requirements of internet users and those who don't have access to the internet, as well as the hurdles to online acceptance, allowing them to create more well-organized strategies to endorse digital inclusion and close the digital divide. Overall, this study will give a thorough picture of the current, former, and never-ever internet users and non-users in the UK, making it a useful resource for companies, politicians, and academics.
