Contra — Add/Edit Project Redesign

Client: Contra Role: Product / UI / UX Designer Tools: Figma (prototype, flows) Timeline: Aug 29, 2025 – Sep 1, 2025 (3 days)

Scope & Objective

Contra wanted to overhaul their “Add / Edit Project” interface to lower friction, boost conversion (i.e. more users successfully publishing projects), and improve usability overall.

The goal was not just to beautify the UI — but to streamline the flow, provide guidance, and reduce errors or drop-offs while users create or update a project.

Proposed Solutions & Features

During ideation, I proposed a number of design enhancements to address pain points:

Progress indicator / stepper

Introduce a visible progression bar so users can see where they are in the flow and how many steps remain.

Live preview mode

As users fill in project details or upload images, they see a real-time preview (thumbnail, title, header) — giving immediate feedback and reducing surprise after publishing.

Delete / replace cover image option

Allow users to remove or swap the cover image easily, avoiding frustration when they change their mind.

Merged header / metadata section

On the published view, unify project header and creator information so everything relevant is in one place, reducing visual clutter.

Tooltips, contextual dialogs, and micro-help

Add small hints and contextual help at potential friction points — helping users understand requirements or next steps without leaving the flow.
