After doing some competitive analysis and user research with friends of mine who are actively learning new things online, I found out some interesting informations.

I used online survey and 1-1 interview methods with 5 people ages between 16-30.

30% of users could not finish the course they already started. They need some kind of achievement or motivational goals. 1 Person told that, he loves studying at night, so some apps only supports white mode which causes eye strain. 3 Participants told that many apps just offer same courses to everyone and don’t have personalized experience for users. Also participants mentioned that, in many courses they don’t have analytic dashboard. They would like to see how much time did they spend learning, set weekly or daily learning goals and etc. Also users mentioned that they would like to bookmark and take notes on each course.

Adding personalized experiences with onboarding questions. After learning their specific needs and wants, adding specialized feeds for each individual.

Adding different goal setting features with gamification to help users keep motivation and giving them feeling of achievement

Adding special charts and graphs for users to easily grasp their progress, adding features like add to bookmarks and taking notes on chapter of course
