Nina and Noun — The Pilot

Tone Segurado

Nina and Noun is a diverse, family-friendly comedy series featuring a young girl and her lovable dog, blending humor and heart to promote inclusivity.

I'm Tone Segurado—a visual communication specialist with over a decade of experience in transforming ideas into compelling visuals. I specialize in brand identities, web3 projects, illustration, motion design, sculpture, and animation. With over 50 awards and 70 satisfied businesses (including twice being named Best Illustrator of the Year by the Creative Club of Portugal), I know how to make brands shine.
IDEA: Decentralized media often misses the mark on diverse representation, leaving cultural gaps. Nina and Noun addresses this by offering a funny, engaging series that champions inclusivity and diversity. The show creates a foldable universe with memorable characters and merchandise opportunities, boosting brand recognition and spreading happiness.
CHARACTERS:
Nina: A spirited young girl with a zest for life.
Nog: Her adorable little dog and loyal companion.
4156 (Noun 159): The community protector.
Hot Nog: A quirky, delicious hot dog always on the verge of being eaten.
Noop: The wildcard who distracts with his playful antics.
(Plus tertiary characters like Noop's flies and a scenic cactus that add extra charm.)

Storyline

This animated short captures the adventures of Nina, a spirited young girl, and her lively dog, Noun, as they encounter unexpected events in a park. More than just a narrative, this animation serves as a tribute to the Nouns community, the first decentralized brand organized as a decentralized autonomous organization. This community promotes unbridled creativity, champions diversity, and has profoundly inspired the project. The characters, from the main protagonists Nina and Noun to the vigilant 4156 and the ever-elusive treat, Hot-Nog, are all meticulously digitally sculpted, showcasing a unique blend of artistry and technology. The animation not only provides entertainment but also subtly promotes inclusive and diversity, aligning with the ethos of the Nouns community.
The idea for 'Nina & Noun' came from a hilarious misunderstanding. Tone Segurado was working on his garage, and listening to Nina Simone. Then his girlfriend yelled their dog's name - "Victoria Não!" (No in Portuguese). Tone understood "Antonia, Noun!". That's where he started digging into the short concept.
