Racy Retreat is an online adult lifestyle brand created to deliver a premium, discreet shopping experience for lingerie, toys, and accessories. The client wanted a store that combined style and functionality while tackling the unique challenges of adult e-commerce — from product curation to payment processor compliance.

🎯 Objectives

Build and launch a fully functional Shopify store.
Import and organize 500+ products from Honey’s Place distributor feed.
Create inclusive product collections with a strong plus-size lingerie focus.
Ensure the storefront looked professional, mobile-first, and conversion-ready.
Seed product reviews to establish trust.
Integrate analytics + Meta Pixel for tracking and growth.
Train the client to manage the store independently.

💡 Challenges

Limited product images from distributor → risk of poor customer experience.
Payment restrictions → Shopify Payments & Stripe block adult stores.
Low-stock items → high chance of frequent “out of stock” displays.
Ad tracking concerns → client hesitant about mixing pixels across businesses.

Store Design & Branding
Customized a premium, mobile-responsive Shopify theme.
Designed clear navigation & collection banners for a modern shopping feel.
Product Integration & Strategy
Imported 500+ products into 10 curated collections (lingerie, toys, oils, bondage, etc.).
Applied inventory logic (only products with stock >5 to avoid customer frustration).
Prioritized inclusivity → 65% of lingerie SKUs were plus-size.
Manually added front + back product images for lingerie to improve UX.
Trust & Conversion Signals
Seeded 122 starter reviews to build early social proof.
Added collection-level banners for authority and consistency.
Compliance & Payments
Researched and recommended adult-friendly payment processors (Segpay, CCBill, Durango, Corepay).
Outlined step-by-step setup so client could move forward smoothly.
Analytics & Training
Fully integrated Google Analytics + dedicated Meta Pixel (with a separate ad account for Racy Retreat).
Delivered a live training session to hand over store management confidently.

✍ Lessons & Reflections
