Overview:

Plante is an environmental startup based in Melbourne, Australia, dedicated to revolutionizing gardening with sustainable practices. They provide eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastic pots by utilizing biodegradable coconut fiber pots, targeting nurseries, schools, and offices. The mission extends to educating young Australians about sustainable living and the benefits of green spaces.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Fullstack Developer, I led full-stack development, primarily the backend, including designing the database and setting up CMS with Sanity for managing content across various pages such as products, blogs, and homes. Additionally, I was responsible for front-end development, creating interactive UI components, and integrating Supabase for account management.

Technologies Used:

Next.js, Supabase, Sanity, AWS, Stripe

Process:

The project commenced with a detailed planning phase to align technological solutions with Plante’s sustainability goals. I developed the backend infrastructure and collaborated with the team to design user-centric front-end components. The integration of Stripe for payments was a significant focus, ensuring seamless transactions without traditional payment frameworks.

Results:

Plante’s innovative approach and sustainable products have garnered attention from the environmental community and investors alike. The startup was featured at SXSW Sydney’s Investor Sneak Peek, where it successfully pitched to potential investors and stakeholders worldwide, highlighting the impact and scalability of plastic-free gardening solutions.
