You ever meet a client that gets it, but doesn't know where to go rom there? When I was introduced to Apache Machine Repair they were using an iCloud email to run the business. There wasn't so much as a logo, color scheme, but they understood the value of a website and with that need became opportunity.

Sometimes the word opportunity can have a negative connotation to it, like a predator seeking it's prey. This couldn't be further from the truth in this scenario and is a common theme throughout my projects. The term opportunity translates to a situation where I can help someone out. Where there is a great need for my services and skillset. This client hand me a trifold brochure and emailed a few grainy photos and I took it from there. From creating the logo, to purchasing the domain, to setting up the social accounts, business cards and last, but not least the website.

Even though I knew the likelihood of this particular client managing their own content system was very slim, I still set them up a WordPress site anyway. I built the site to where someone could be trained to update the site for them one day. One day when they pulled the trigger on the used product catalog they mentioned in their future.

This was not cookie cutter by any means, but the lack of flash on the site might lead one to think so. Knowing the clients biggest target audience would be plant managers likely researching some ways to avoid buying brand new expensive machine while they eat their lunch or supper, I put an emphasis on load time and mobile responsiveness.

You could look at the forms filled out on the website as an admin and think that maybe this isn't working the way they intended, but there are specific ways machine repair is handled within this industry and form fills do not scratch the surface of the success of this website. The services used to get these contracts require a company to have a website for legitimacy. Who is to say how much business this website has gained this company, but one could argue that most of those contracts that were won were because of this website. It is hard to put a number on that for sure.
