I worked with Saracen Horse Feeds as the lead Webflow developer on a large-scale website build, partnering closely with the Creative Director to deliver a platform that balances strong visual design with performance, usability, and long-term scalability.
From the outset, this project was about more than just building pages. Saracen’s site needed to support a wide range of products, audiences, and content, while remaining easy to use, fast, and flexible enough to grow over time.
The approach
A big focus was on getting the foundations right. That meant building a robust Webflow framework that could handle complex content without becoming fragile or over-engineered. Clear CMS structures, consistent components, and a performance-first mindset were key throughout.
Equally important was communication. The project ran smoothly because of close collaboration with the Creative Director and wider team. Ideas were explored openly, problems were tackled early, and decisions were made with clarity and trust. That working relationship made a real difference to both the pace and quality of the outcome.
The outcome
The finished site has been really well received internally, with positive feedback around both usability and performance. Hearing that the site feels intuitive to use, loads quickly, and supports the team’s day-to-day needs is always the best validation that the hard work has paid off.
It’s a project that shows the value of doing the fundamentals properly: solid structure, clean implementation, and thoughtful collaboration at every stage.
What’s next
We’re now moving into an ongoing support and growth contract. The next phase focuses on expanding the platform with localisation, custom product finders, and continued SEO improvements, ensuring the site evolves alongside the business rather than standing still.
A complex build, delivered with care, clarity, and collaboration, and one I’m genuinely proud to have been part of.
