Project Overview: This project involved designing a comprehensive native mobile app for Tyro School, a platform aimed at enhancing the management and communication systems within educational institutions.

As the sole designer on this project, I took the app from a Greenfield concept to a fully fleshed-out design, overseeing each stage of UX and product design.

The goal was to create an intuitive, user-centered app that streamlined daily school operations, fostered communication, and improved overall productivity for educators, students, and administrators alike.

Challenges & Solutions: Designing an educational app for diverse user groups (teachers, students, and administrators) required careful consideration of each group’s needs. I tackled this by developing detailed UX flows that mapped out the ideal user journey for each role, ensuring that each feature was accessible and intuitive.

Through iterative design and user testing, I gathered feedback from representatives of each user group and refined the UX to address pain points and streamline navigation. Regular collaboration with the Head of Product and the development team ensured that all design elements were feasible and aligned with product goals, optimising the app for smooth performance and user satisfaction.

Outcome: The Native Mobile App launched successfully and received positive feedback for its usability and design. Educators reported increased efficiency, and students found the app engaging and easy to use.

This project stands as a testament to how user-centered design, combined with thorough UX testing, iteration, and cross-functional collaboration, can transform school management by providing a seamless, accessible digital experience that meets the unique needs of each user group.
