SoilDrops was founded with a mission to promote sustainable gardening and water conservation. Recognizing that over 2.5 trillion gallons of water are wasted annually in the U.S. due to overwatering, SoilDrops is committed to revolutionizing irrigation practices. The company aims to help gardeners and homeowners conserve water, reduce waste, and ensure plant health, all while contributing to a more sustainable future.c

SoilDrops hired us to design a mobile app that enables users to run and manage their entire irrigation system via automation, using ground sensors and a controller, resulting in longer plant life and conservation of water due to a rigorous analytics system embedded into the app.

In developing the SoilDrops mobile app, we focused on creating an intuitive and visually appealing experience that embodies the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

Visual Identity: We chose a fresh green color palette to symbolize growth and nature, paired with neutral tones to maintain a clean and modern look, reinforcing the brand’s identity.

Illustrations and Imagery: Custom illustrations were incorporated to simplify complex concepts and make the app more approachable and user-friendly.

Intuitive Navigation: Our design ensures that users can easily navigate through the app, with key actions like setting up zones and monitoring moisture levels being straightforward and accessible.

Clear Call-to-Actions (CTAs): We implemented bold, well-placed CTAs to guide users through the app, making sure they can accomplish tasks with confidence.

Data Visualization: The app features clear and easy-to-understand data visualizations, allowing users to make informed decisions about their watering practices.

Responsive Design: The app is designed to be fully responsive, ensuring a consistent experience across all devices.

By focusing on these design elements, we created an app that not only serves as a functional tool but also aligns with SoilDrops’ vision of promoting sustainable gardening practices.
