The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at the number one spot in the NFC East. Dallas Cowboys: This is
the year of change since they are number 1 in their division. The Dallas Cowboys have not won a
playoff game since 1996. Due to the opportunistic defense and the defensive rookie of the year,
this may change this year.
Incredibly, two of the Cowboys’ defense leaders are so young. These young guys are Trevon
Diggs and Micah Parsons. They seem to be changing the culture and setting a standard for
Dallas. Micah had 79 tackles, three forced fumbles, and 12 sacks in his first 14 games. He has
become a terror on the defensive side of the ball and has made the Cowboys dominant. The
defense is playing well as a unit and has changed dramatically from last season.
On the back end of the defense in the secondary, Trevon Diggs has been tremendous as well.
Diggs has tied the Cowboys’ record with 11 interceptions. He is three interceptions shy of the
NFL interception record. Quarterbacks fear throwing to his side because he is aware of when the
ball is in the air. I think the Cowboys will be going into the playoffs as the third seed.
The big problem the Cowboys have had has been consistency on the offensive side of the ball.
Ezekiel Elliot has been getting outplayed by Tony Pollard, and Elliot has looked a little slow or
sluggish this year. Dak Prescott has been up and down, and I can not understand why when all
wideouts are big plays waiting to happen. Some may say they have so many weapons that they
don’t even have a go-to receiver. I feel that they will figure it out going into the playoffs. Dallas
Cowboys: This is the year of change.
The defense will be carrying the team to the playoffs because it seems the Dallas Cowboys has
finally hit their year of change. They should be favorites for the NFC despite Aaron Rodgers’s
fantastic year.
