Approximately one in five people is highly sensitive — they perceive the world more intensely. But what does that actually feel like? Notitia makes an invisible, deeply personal experience tangible: an immersive exhibition that lets visitors step inside heightened perception, without needing it explained in words.
My Role: Design Research, Exhibition Design, Spatial Concept, Animation (audio-reactive, TouchDesigner), Material Experiments, AI Imagery Context: Exhibited at Dutch Design Week 2024 Field: Design Research · Immersive Experience https://www.studiopodrasa.com/notitia
the distorted sounds of the audio-reactive animation were recorded in places that trigger intense stimuli in (highly) sensitive people. whether in loud and chaotic places or those that can evoke a strong inner calm.
to symbolize the uniqueness of each person’s perceptual filters, different membranes were created. these membranes allow varying levels of information and stimuli to pass through — some let more in, while others provide more shielding. this means some people are more sensitive and delicate, while others are more resilient, yet each filter remains entirely unique. the membranes were crafted from materials such as glucose, bioplastic, and leaves, or are generated by ai.
