Sotiris Iliadis

Sotiris Iliadis

A self-initiated concept for a European cross-border payment experience - the kind of product where a moment of confusion costs real money and real trust. The goal was a fintech interface that feels calm and honest rather than clever.

The problem

Cross-border payments are where people feel least in control: unclear fees, mystery exchange rates, and jargon written for the bank, not the person sending money to family abroad. Most fintech interfaces add motion and density to look sophisticated, which is the opposite of what an anxious user needs.

The process

Led with transparency: fees and the exchange rate shown up front, in plain language, before the user commits - no surprises at the final step.
Used intentional white space and a clear visual hierarchy, so each screen asks one thing at a time.
Wrote the interface copy for a non-expert sending money under stress, not for a finance professional.
Designed with accessible contrast and structure from the first frame. Stack: Tailwind, designed in Figma.

The result

A concept that argues calm is a feature in fintech - that clarity, plain language, and accessible structure build the trust a payments product lives or dies on. A demonstration of ethical, human-first financial UX.

A calm, trustworthy European cross-border payments concept - transparent fees, plain language, accessible by design. Human-first fintech UX, not built for the experts.
