ZIMAM MART - Bilingual E-Commerce Store

Overview

ZIMAM MART is a gadget and electronics retailer in Dhaka selling phones, laptops, smartwatches, headphones and accessories across Bangladesh with cash on delivery. They were selling through social media and needed a real storefront, plus a way to manage stock and orders without asking a developer every time.

Bilingual from the ground up

The store runs in Bangla and English with a single toggle. This was not a translation layer bolted on at the end. Product data, category names and interface strings are all built to carry both languages, so the Bangla side reads naturally rather than looking like machine output. Most customers browse in Bangla, so that had to be the first-class experience, not the fallback.

What I built

A full storefront with category browsing, search, product pages, wishlist, cart and a cash-on-delivery checkout, plus customer accounts and order tracking. Behind it sits an admin dashboard where the owner adds products, uploads images, edits prices and offers, manages categories, and sees orders as they come in. No developer needed for day-to-day running.

The build

Next.js 15 and React on the front, MongoDB for products, orders and users, and Cloudinary for image storage and delivery, so product photos are optimised and served at the right size instead of loading full-resolution files on a phone.

Details that mattered

Most buyers here are on mid-range Android phones on mobile data, so the whole store is built mobile-first and kept light. Categories, flash sale, new arrivals and offers are reachable from the home page without digging, because that is how customers actually shop.

Handover

Delivered live at zimammart.com with the admin dashboard, and the owner was walked through adding and managing products themselves.
