Men, Stand Up, The Lord Calls You

The Lord created men for a divine purpose. As he, the Lord God is creator and ruler of heaven, earth, sea and the fountains of water, so the Lord God has created you to be the ruler of your sphere. Today, I look specifically at the home.

The Lord has appointed your role in his first instruction to Adam: [see Genesis 1:28]

Be fruitful

Gods desires you to flourish and grow. He wants you to grow into his image, to be like him – “Merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.” [Exod. 34:6] These are the attributes to strive for to perfectly reflect God’s image. Not wealth, power, honor, popularity as the world proscribes. The world’s standards have led to an upside-down society, where men and women are thought to be indistinguishable, where lies are made truth and truth is made lies.

These are not God’s ways, his are the ways of truth, a world of order, without confusion, for as the scriptures teacher “For God is not the author of confusion…” [1Cor 14:33]

So wherever you are, whatever your social or financial status, be fruitful in the ways of God and share those fruits, allow others to eat of the sweet fruit of righteousness that they too may “…taste and see that the Lord is good.”

Replenish the Earth

The Lord has given you the responsibility to fill the earth with men who are a reflection of his perfect, divine image. This means, your eyes are not on the worldly trends that have a perverted view of manhood, rather your eyes are on Jesus Christ the Lord, who will give you a true representation of what it means to be a man. Look to him, the image of perfection. Look, learn, live, and reflect what you see. Spread his light to a world engulfed in the blackest of black. Spread it through your son, your nephew, the males in your neighborhood, in your workplace, in your church, in all your sphere. Jesus Christ was not a follower, neither should you be. The only person you have been instructed to follow in this world is Christ Jesus. As he said to the disciples by the sea, “Follow me,” he makes the same call to you today, whatever your situation may be, the Lord calls you to come, he has power to restore and remake you and send you out like the disciples to be “fishers of men”.

Subdue

Bring all things in your life into submission to the will of Christ. He reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to “Bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” to “Cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Make the decision to subdue all addictions, sensualities, and thoughts in rebellions against God. Then go to the Lord and let him know that you are ready to give surrender all in your life that is in rebellion against him and that you are ready to walk according to his precepts. He will hear; he will answer, and he will give you the victory. It is assured to you if you want it, for faithful is he that has promised. He implores you “Call unto me and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” [Jer. 33:3]

Have dominion

In the world, dominion is given to those who are believed to be equipped to successfully manage it. Indeed, sometimes men get it wrong. But does God ever get it wrong? “No, his work is perfect.” Why then did the Lord give dominion to men? Because he knows you can manage. He has endowed you with abilities to do just that. Accept the role you Creator has given you and take control of your families. Have dominion over your children, and over the operations of your home. Set the rules for conduct and behavior and boundaries that should never be crossed.

The world has essentially advocated for freedom for all to “Do what thou wilt” advocated by Aleister Crowley, an avowed Satanist, and what has been the result – death, decay, destruction, mourning, loss, famine, disease, bitterness, hopelessness, suicides, violence, intemperance.

Let not destructive, ungodly, worldly standards take control of you, your children, your family and your home. Rather, let the author of life, love, purity bring light and righteousness into your life and into the lives of those you love.

Retrieve your lost dominion and do the work that the Lord has called you to do. Be the man of the home.

Final thoughts

You are called by the great King of heaven to be his representative in this world, to be his ambassador. Your thoughts, words, acts should covey his thoughts, words, and his acts.

No longer allow the trends of a fallen world that is in rebellion against God to dictate your walk. Walk in the light of truth. Stand for the truth. Teach your children truth. Train them to become beacons of truth. If you have to be the only one following truth, stand, for you are not alone, for he who is faithful and true hast left you an eternal promise, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake you,” [Heb. 13:5] “And lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” [Mat 28:20]
