Introduction

Blaze is a Solar CRM, Design Tool built to make business lives a bit easier when it comes to managing the entire solar sales workflow under one roof in a seamless manner. Blaze provides an extensive set of features such as Lead management, Automatic and Manual solar design tools, Project management with customisable workflows, automated actions and much more.

The Client came to us with the intention of bringing all aspects of the solar workflow under one roof and not to rely on any third party tools.

Conduct user research to understand the solar sales workflow and third-party integrations.

• To Design a universal, scalable workflow adaptable to different solar businesses.

Create wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs, balancing usability with technical feasibility.

• Develop a design system for consistency and smooth developer handoff.

Understanding the entire sales process, workflow, various third parties involved in the entire process was a challenging task.

Our goal was to make the design universal so that any business in the solar industry could use it without much customization.

Figuring out the possibilities of integration of finance partners with our platform.

How can we make the design such that it meets the client’s expectations, keeping the development/ technical limitations in mind.

When I reflect on the core of our design process, It all began with defining a clear UX strategy, which felt like our guiding star. During brainstorming sessions, we identified key domains- Business, Development, and Users-each with unique goals. Balancing these felt like solving a puzzle, but I loved the challenge of designing something that honored them all.

Organizing data into clear groups was like laying a foundation. Collaborating with stakeholders was incredibly rewarding, especially when the client’s input helped us prioritize modules and features.

It was a moment of clarity, and I felt deeply grateful for their trust. This step wasn’t just about structure—it was about creating something meaningful together.

The most crucial step of entering any new lead is the creation of a solar design system according to the client’s requirements. The sales rep can go ahead and opt for automatic design tool, or request a manual design in case of complex rooftops.

The manual design tool is used to intricately plan solar systems on complex rooftops, enhancing result accuracy. By positioning multiple solar arrays on the rooftop and adjusting azimuth values, the intended outcome is pursued until successfully achieved.

Effectively organize your scheduling responsibilities with the use of Calendar. This versatile tool offers views for Year, Month, Week, and Day, accommodating various planning preferences. Configure the calendar to view the task types necessary to you.

Collaborating closely with key decision-makers proved highly advantageous. The Client demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of their users.

While it initially took time to fully grasp the complex world of solar and navigate the challenges at hand, this phase was not without its initial anxieties. However, our dedication to establishing a strong core paid off, allowing us to rapidly make progress during the project's latter stages.

The client expressed satisfaction with my solution, considering it a good initial step for their CRM project. They intend to build upon it through iterative improvements.

We're now moving into the next phase of the project, which involves the integration of additional features, including the development of a mobile version.
